Question: If football was changed to be less of a contact sport or even flag football type of game how would your viewership change?

If they keep doing the kneeling BS and other agenda-based crap like that I will continue to watch less as I am already doing.

I'm not going to watch flag football.
Depends on rule changes on how far I go to not watching at all. Like moving kickoff up so that there are more touch-backs didn't get me to stop watching, but if they eliminate it I would probably stop. I almost stopped watching this yr due to the National Anthem protests but my team starting the season 5-0 drew me back in.

Yeah, the national anthem is a separate issue. College football would be included in this and they don't have those issues.

Flag football? WTF are you thinking? Might as well be fag football...are the uniforms assless? Because the "sport" sure would be nutless in that form. At that point, professional 'rasslin' would be more of a sport. That's like asking if someone would watch NASCAR if the cars were pedal-powered!

Restrictor plates in NASCAR get a down vote from me

It's football. If you wanna be safe, don't play football. I don't want to destroy my body in a skiing accident. I don't ski.

I don't watch much football as it is....college more so than pro. We watch NASCAR for the wrecks, we watch hockey for the fight, and we watch football for the big hit! Just the way it is. You take those aspects away from the sport and your going to loose fans. The sport isn't interested in protecting the players....they are interested in protecting their investment. If people were not bitch'n about it the NFL wouldn't change.

Astroturf, indoor stadiums that isn't football to me. Bring back the mud, rain and playing in the snow. Then I'll start watching again. There was nothing like seeing a guy get tackled and then slide another 5 yards in the mud or snow.

Some of those first few regular season baseball games seem like they'd be miserably cold to play in or attend.

I figured it would be about 5 years before they started working on a dome for that field. FWIW......I always thought the Vikings and the Twins should have a field adjacent to one another......with a rolling roof that could be stored in the three positions. 1: over football filed, 2: Over baseball field, 3: Over the middle area between the fields so you could have civic events. This way you could have a dome avaialble for three different venues and use the same parking lot for all three. Alas: What do I know? .

I think football the way we know it is in real trouble long term. The way society looks at the game is changing fast.

It'll get to a point they either shut it down completely or a "Let them play" movement swings it back the other way, much like when Nascar brought back bump drafting a number of years back. Those athletes can't just backflip into an office or trades career.

Football isn't going anywhere. Parents that are letting their kids play aren't NFL stock anyways. Every current player knows the risk and still show every week. Ratings will go up and down based on the product on the field and how much they piss viewers off over social issues. There is billions of dollars in play, they will adjust accordingly.
