I LOOOOOVE crow hunting!!!! Put out an owl decoy and use your speaker with a crow fight. Pump the volume and have shells ready for reloading. They get plume stupid with this set-up. I've had a flock just keep circling until I had shot almost all of them. Throw out a few bags of corn a week in advance if you want to insure that there are some in the area. You will know when it's time to move to a different location. What owl decoy do you recommend? What species of owl?

I don't know that it matters what species it is. Mine are just decoys that I picked up at garden centers (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.), they are suppose to keep pests out of the garden.

So how do you stage this? where do you put the owl and where do you put the crow decoys?

I put the owl on a tree branch (if I can) and the crows around it. If you can't find a tree to climb then put it on a fence post and put the crow decoys on the ground around it. As long as everything is visible and crows are around it should work. They get real stupid...

March 10. The day after I move How did the hunt go? How' the first day of working from home going? Pretty slow. Birds were skiddish as hell. Snow was too deep to walk around in the woods and the wheelers were getting stuck. We shot a few times but they were far shots and none dropped. Oh well. Good time though.

Yep snow is deep. I took the wheeler to the food plot the other day. All was good till it got hung up. Guess it will be awhile before I frost seed.

(Oh and I hit an 82 for a score.). But we did seek out shade when we had to wait for a bit.....and drink plenty of water. But I'd rather play golf here in the mid 90's than in MN when it's 85 and MUGGY! Yuck! I bet you never been in a dry climate like this when it's warm. If you are in FL and it's in the 90's.....that is a whole other kind of deal.

This weather has been fricken crazy. FORE more inch's of snow in the plot since I was last in it.
