I can haul more in my ranger and go way faster. I can also scale a super steep bluff with my side-by-side whereas with that I wouldn't feel as safe.
Interesting idea, but I don't think its for me.

I like it but only would buy if much cheaper. For that price I could get a much lighter and more useful UTV for what I need. Or just buy an older used CJ-5 or small truck and get the same thing. Still, it's cool that they are bringing back the Willies body style. I always said if manufactures would bring back stuff like the 69 camaro, 427 cobra, 32 coupe, 57 Chevy, etc that they would sell...

^. Somebody ougtta take on Jeep. They sell the daylights out of those Wranglers and lots of other models too. Seems like somebody should give 'em a little competition. they own the off-road market here in OZ.

I think my brother in law used to use a Suzuki Samurai when he used to go mudding.

I had a Samurai, that little thing was badass. I could take that thing places no truck or even SUV could go. Pounded the piss out of it too!

Always heard they were quite trail worthy.....if you could keep em from tipping over. Pretty narrow vehicles. I used to own a International Scout Pick-up. Little truck had a 4 banger engine and a four speed. I think mine was a 66. It would top out at about 55 mph.....and was not real road worthy.....but it would go thru nearly anything. Got it stuck in the riverbed once....and nearly drown my black lab.....who was in the kennel in the bed of the truck. Had to pull him out of the cage from under the water. Phew. Pulled it out of the river.....let it dry out....and fired it right up. Bad Ass Scout!

It was the only thing around at the time small enough to go over a pond damn that had to be traversed, and it was raining, and it was a mud pit most of the way. It bounced right through everything with no problems. Awesome little truck! If I remember right it's 4-banger engine was actually a v-8 cut in half. Looked kind of goofy but it fit in that small bay.

I drove mine up on a rock hard, wind blown, 4' snow drift, got the front wheels to the top and they broke through when crossing over the "peak" and was resting on the frame. My dad, my cousin, and myself got out and lifted the front end out of the wheel holes, moved it slightly left out of the holes, and gently set it back down on the drift. I then proceeded to slowly back off until it was no longer on the drift. Thing was ridiculously light. IIRC, the complete motor weighed something in the range of 380lbs all in. We used to go dune jumping with it, as some of our public properties had rather large sand blows back in the woods and most had snowmobile trails running to/through them, and the Samurai was narrow enough to easily navigate even the narrowest of trails. Probably one of the funnest vehicles I have ever owned.

They still make the Samurai but just no longer sell it in the US.
Some bad press about rolling over is to blane... it seems it wasn't totally deserved and they sued but the damage had been done.

The big questions is........can it meet emissions standards or just fuck it and cover it up with software manipulation like their diesels?
