Do they do well out there? Love that tree I planted some in woodland openings a few years ago. They've grown some unprotected but, I dont have a lot of open space to plant them. These are going on south facing slopes that I plan to hinge several trees and plant these in the tops. Maybe in another 10 years I'll see the results.

I planted some 5 years ago from MDC. I caged a handful that were in good sunlight. They started slow but put on good growth the last two years. My problem with MDC is their roots are so big, their stuff is very hard to plant in my rocks.

I’m not sure how’d they do out your way— Itasca Greenhouse has Swamp white Oak plugs almost every year

I started a few from acorns someone sent me from south of here. They were in roottrappers and I planted them about three years ago. The best one might be knee high.
I just can’t grow oaks with a darn on this place. Too light of soil.
Foggy- I think I gave you a couple. How did they do?

I figure the soil will be right for them in those locations.

They really did well on sand.
