So i don't want to plant my swamp oaks until the dozer work is complete and then plant them on the north side of my plots near a stand location. Can these trees be put in July, August, September? Or is it typically better to just do it in spring? Remember I don't have the drought problems in summer most do with my wet ground if that makes a difference.

Fruit trees that are delivered in the early spring are the only trees that I don't plant in the fall. Everything that I grow myself gets babied in the summer and planted during fall dormancy. Works great for me, but I do have heat and drought problems...

I would say September would be fine, can you water them?
Shortly after labor day, try to cage or tube, then add water if possible. Those trees are really nice if they take off.

Yeah I suppose I could water them if needed. Should I wait till September or just plant them right after my stumping is done and the field is planted? That would be like mid July I would think. If stuff dries up enough for them to get in here to remove the stumps. That is what I wanted to do. Then I don't have to be screwing around in the big plot right before hunting season.

You and I have similar fortunes when it comes to being wet. I planted my road screen in August and it did great. If you can get plugs in mid to late summer, I'd go for it. I don't know that I'd ever do plugs in spring again, given that I don't have moisture problems. Waiting affords me the opportunity to clean up a spot with gly before planting. Shitloads easier than trying to rescue with cleth after the fact.

September, cool nights, usually good rain.
July is poor time to plant in most years.
I’d say my survival for fall planting’s is higher than spring
