First fish of the season. Itβs been has been 10 months or so since I have been fishing. Now try to catch something you can eat. π In two weeks these will be legal. Trouble is my next fishing trip is scheduled with foggy. I am not sure he knows golf clubs from fishing rods. Sad case!

Even a golfer should be able to catch crappies this time of year. π

Is it a crappie or small mouth bass?

Smallie, but crappies should be shallow now or very soon.

Foggy is a bit slow to catch on to real JPS, but he does pretty good once he gets started.

Was glad to watch Art at work with his new fly rod. I think another few years and he may actually be catching something with it. He dont know it.....but I was regularly ducking the flying hooks as he was untangling the line. At one point he had fly line wrapped around him and the motor.......and I thought I may have to cut him free. He finally recognized defeat......and went back to his zebco. Grin. . I haven't watched the sun come up over the water in a few years. Gotta admit Art makes a pretty good guide once he sobers up a bit. By about 8 am we were boating some keeper fish.....sorted a few smaller ones back into the lake.....and we both took enough for a meal......and got off the lake before 9 AM. Nice time.

Glad to see you guys at least found some fish and didn't blow yourselves up in the process. You guys really know how to sell that "fish'n" stuff.....lures in the fish mouths and poles in the pics and the like. You guys have done this before!!! My grandfather always called dynamite as a "Kentuckian fish'n pole"...... You guy crack me up!

My grandfather always called dynamite as a "Kentuckian fish'n pole"...... You guy crack me up! Yep.....I'm sending those pics of Art to Jack-Pine-Savage Semi-Annual magazine......which is all photos.....as everyone knows that JPS"s cant read the print anyway. I think they may put him on the cover again and maybe on the back page too? In fact I think he may be the perennial cover gurl for that magazine! They usually fire up the printing press every time I send 'em a picture. I'm told they sold all 8 copies last time he was on the cover.....mostly to Art's family again. We're running out of genuine JPS's in this world......and it's a real treat to watch one in action. I'm not sure I have ever.....or will ever fish with another guy that uses a Tidy Cat plastic can for a tackle box. Pretty ingenious! Red Green would be proud. Huge grin.
