Looking at possibly a different job. The work schedule is work 8, 10 hour days in a row and then get 6 day's off. What do you think of something like that.

If the job is sitting on the internet all day like you do now, go for it!

But I don't have a woman, wife, or kids. I'd be taking a week of vacation every two weeks for the rest of time. That'd give a guy endless opportunities to go on trips without having to use vacation. You could go to the land for 3-4 days and even take naps, have a hard night of drinkin, and still get a couple days good work in.

You will burn out after a while. It will take a day of doing nothing to let your body recover on the 6 days that you have off. Probably need to take it easy on the day before you go back to work. So in reality you will only have 4 days to do what you want.

If the job is sitting on the internet all day like you do now, go for it! I can do whatever I want all day. I've worked nights for the past 28 years.

For example you work Mon-Sun,Mon then get Tues-Sun off. I would not like to have to work every other weekend. Seems like could be alot of opportunity to miss events that happen on the weekend because it falls on the weekend you work. ..Weddings Superbowl etc

I'd do it as long as my wife gave the ok. Sometimes working weird schedules has advantages including skipping events that you'd normally be tied to that you might not want to go to.

Do ya have kids? I took a huge cut in pay at one time of my life so that I could have a job that was more in line with what my kids were doing. Kids were the most important deciding factor in my career choices throughout my life. When it came down to it, nothing else ever trumped the kids factor.

I know what you mean about missing things. Today, I asked for every other Saturday off. Will see what happens.
