I didn't even own a vehicle when I met my wife! I guess she thought I had potential......I showed it to her too!
I would still have a "beater" truck.....my daily now is what many would call a beaater, but it's in decent shape. But I can't afford a new $40,000 truck..... My 96 F150 long bed 4 wheel drive straight 6 (120,000) works just fine at the moment (except for the busted belt in the front tire I found yesterday....man that caused one hell of a vibration). I bought it for roughly $2,500, so I can't complain. Still miss my quad-cab however.
Vehicles seem to be one of the worst investments I think a person can make.....especially for what they cost and what they are worth when you finally pay them off.....at least buying new. It floors me how folks "justify" spending what they do on some of these. Between the city folks who by big trucks and never haul anything or even had it in four wheel drive to those trying to show off and needing some "luxury" brand or some sort of stupid fast death machine.....or some old man trying to make up for his dick not working any more!
I'll stick with simple. I like my bench seat, vent windows and my window cranks. I like having something I'm not afraid to scratch or worry about folks bumping into. If you can afford nicer vehicles that is fine.....but I'm not making a house payment on a vehicle every month!

I like hunting land more than new vehicles, but picking up a woman for a date in an old vehicle sucks. I'd like to say I bought hunting land right out of the gate after college, but I didn't. I bought a sweet new truck so I didn't have to pick up women in my 1987 Ford Taurus that had rust spots and peeling paint. I went thru that “impress ‘em” phase. All it got me was women that wanted to be impressed by that kind of shit, and they were expensive. Anymore, it’s gonna take a special kind of woman to warm up to the kind of guy I am. There’s no glitz and glam anymore, I lean more to sensationalizing the hokey shit I do as a way to filter them high maintenance broads out. Ok we are making progress. The talk of you actually potentially being with a women is heartwarming to me. Now we just got to find that women and get your bean snapped.

Took the car in to get the O2 sensors checked. Those weren’t the problem. I got some other BS code they just cleared. Having dodged the bullet there, I opted to do some other stuff, that is until I saw the price.
$360 for plugs and wires $95 for fuel filter
No. I’ve seen my brother do those plugs and wires in under ten minutes. I did end up getting my ignition switch replaced.

I'd rather pay Shitty Bill to do them some weekend.

Well, we all know this day is coming for our vehicles. I regard homes, vehicles, and machinery as what they are, simple inanimate objects. But this car is something special. I bought this thing when I was a senior in high school. In a little over two months, I will turn 37. The cavvy and I have been through lots of stuff together, like dozens of women, countless friends, 4 Minnesota road kill grand slams, and numerous homes and cities.
It was acting up on Saturday, and I feared it might be the end. I finally took it in to have it looked at this morning. As the news came back from the service writer, this was the verdict.
