Back in 2013 I bought and put up a shadow hunter. Most of you may remember this as I posted at that time on HT, but another post here got me to thinking to post again. I pulled the pics from photo bucket so I now have copies of them. Just goes to show you that you can do a lot by yourself if you just think it out. I started by putting legs on the blind.

Staked it to the ground so it wouldn't slide.

Do the rigging. Crossed lines so I had some place to put ladder. Ladder was used to put an angle so it would start to lift when I started to winch it up.

Had ropes attached to base so it could be tied off so it wouldn't flip the other way once all the way up.

Raised. After it was up I redid the cross braces as they were put on in a way to support while raising. Ground to floor 21'.

That must've been a little hairy as it reached the point of no return.
So those are 21' 4x4's??

I find that getting those legs all braced up good before trying the lift. I found this out the hard way. Don't ask.

A word of warning. I put up a few stands that are on 16' 4x4's. Did not have the best x-braceing.......and I would not attempt it again unless better braces.....such as was done by Tool'n. Mine were really bent.....and it's a wonder they did not break. Now?.....I dont see any reason to be that high. 10 feet is plenty for my needs.
Nicely done Tool'n!

Could a person tip up a box blind similar to above by using a tractor loader with bucket forks? Similar setup, attach legs on the ground and then lift unit.
I was thinking of building fork extensions out of wood that I could add eye-bolts etc. to attach to the legs to the extensions. Seems like a good idea but what am I missing.
