Almost 'Nocktober'

Nocktober's gonna be a big month. Deer will be shot and meat sticks will be made.
So who makes the best meat stick?
MNBowhunters Inc is going to let the bowhunters of Minnesota decide. Friday October 26th from noon to 5 pm we will be at the Main Gate Bar outside of Camp Ripley offering free meat sticks to bowhunters camped out for the second Ripley hunt.
Participating hunters will be given 10 random meat stick samples from processors across the state, and asked to pick their top 2. The meat market with the most votes is going to win $500, and a randomly drawn bowhunter will get a $250 gift certificate they can use at any of the participating meat processors.
So if you know who makes the best meat stick in Minnesota, get them to pony up 5 pounds of their best sticks cut into 2 inch chunks. We will get them a shipping address and take it from there.
Stop by and talk to President Brooks Johnson to discuss why none of the $30,000 - $50,000 the DNR receives for the Ripley hunt applications is given to Central Lakes College for coordinating and running the hunts. Maybe if a new Governor and DNR commissioner sent a grant that direction we could start moving the needle on the Ripley hunts?
Good luck this Nocktober, and remember the deadline to pre vote for the 2018 MN Governors race is Nocktober 18th. If you will be out of town during firearms season and want legitimate deer management to return to Minnesota (including Ripley) only one candidate is pushing DNR reform. You can read about it below.
