^ That looks like a rag-horn bull elk more than a deer.

We have a bull elk near our OTC property. A guy a couple miles away texted me a pic in his pasture a couple weeks ago.

So.....what is the story on your pic Mike? ideas where he came from? Wonder what happens when somebody shoots him thinking he scored a Thurdy-point buck?

So.....what is the story on your pic Mike? ideas where he came from? Wonder what happens when somebody shoots him thinking he scored a Thurdy-point buck? I have no idea where he came from, but I'm guessing from the south. Many years ago the DNR release some in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest near the Clam Lake area this is in very northern WI. 2 or 3 years ago several were released in the Black river Forest in Jackson county, which is south of my place about 70 miles. This year is the first elk hunt in WI with limited tags and area. IIRR hunting is only in the Clam lake area, with only 5 bull tags issued and if you get a tag it's a once in a lifetime tag. Since there is no collar I'm thinking this is an offspring of a released cow. If you look close on the picture on the right you can see the stand I put up this spring for my wife. I just hope some Amish doesn't shot him. I'm taking this as a once in a lifetime trail cam picture.

Well obviously that stand is on a highly traveled game trail.

Well obviously that stand is on a highly traveled game trail. Yes it is. My wife has the best stand on the place, I my have to sit in it a time or 3. This is also the stand the bear walked by and the Amish dogs. Haven't seen either lately . Going to pull cards tomorrow. Maybe there will be another surprise.
