Is anyone else seeing a lot of raccoons while hunting and on camera?
Seems like an excessive amount around....also seeing a bunch dead on the road? You guys?
*Not good for the duck and pheasant situation to have that many.

We had a trapper come in early september. He got 3. I still have them on camera all the time. Seems to be a ton around. They fvck my apples up all the time.

I always see a ton of coons this time of yr. They seem to ramp up activity about now, or it's just it tends to be dark this time of yr when I drive most. I'm not a fan of coons. Kill them every chance I get. Damn nest robbers!

The main reason for the big increase in raccoons is due to raccoon fur being just about worthless. Hardly any one is trapping them.

They are just a walking stomach and quite easy to trap.

I blame the oaks. Probably been a ton of banging going on since the acorn boom in August. I'm so ashamed of what I created.
Gypsum = acorns = coons

I have no apathy for coons. They can be fun to watch at times, but I think they struggle to be held in check because of limited trapping. I think they can be pretty hard on ground nesting bird populations. I only seem to get them on cam when I use a block that isn't salt based. When I use my trace mineral blocks the coons don't seem to be interested in them much. My father uses a "wildlife" block that has corn and other things in it and the damned coons try to roll it away and take off with it!
