Sorry to hear that Mo. You had good intentions but some people just can't be helped (or even want it). Kansas went democratic last night and that's rare. Most of rural (which is most of the state) KS is strongly republican. The type of people who vote party without even looking at records or campaigns. With the widespread hatred of our latest governor (Brownback) it doesn't surprise me that people voted democratic... but it does surprise me that enough people voted democratic. I hope for your sake that it doesn't stay blue but, I've seen similar things happen to all of the New England states. Libs move out of the cities to a rural area that is "perfect" to live in. Then they vote for change so it's more like what they originally left. Before you know it they turn an area blue. My town has seen this over the last 25 years. One by one they move in. Taxes go up and the crap that libs spew takes over.

There are only 3 cities in KS that can support much of a working class population; Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita (and half of Kansas City lives in Missouri). Nobody wants to live in a "perfect" area that is 3 hours from work. And liberal democrats don't want to WORK for a living on feedlots or as a custom cutter. Of course much of KS is very low income with a raising Hispanic population that may start valuing welfare type health insurance and benefits. I don't know, I've been wrong before. Looking at red/blue maps can show you where the biggest cities are in the state. I will say that our democrats are probably not as liberal as your democrats.

The problem is many they move in are retirees that can spend their time campaigning and there's others that have no plans to work but, want to sponge. The others are the college students. The libs here got rules passed so that out of state students can vote as in state residents. They have swayed several close elections. The kicker is they still pay out of state tuition.

Scooter Walker got bounced here in Wisconsin as well. Can't wait to see what gas prices look like in this state in 6 months... So no chance for MN DNR change and now WI is under the control of a tax crazy democrat. Fuck me Only saving face here is that the State Legislature is still solidly red in both branches. GOP seats in the State House still have a huge advantage and we won back a seat we lost in a special election last year in the State Senate, so we still have a majority in both.

Myself, I am not disappointed with the election Outcome. That is the same spread as the last school board election. More disappointed that only 30% of the register voters in our school district voted. It’s obvious nobody gives a shit

Of course they do... colleges want that out of state $$$. I didn't know that out of state students could vote in their college state. Do they pay taxes there? Can they buy resident hunting licenses there, etc? I hadn't thought of retirees. I don't think we are that much of destination state but I do see your point.

I believe NH is the only state that allows out of state students to vote in state. When the libs had control of the state they passed a law that allowed them to vote. They wanted no voter to be denied. They don't even make them purchase an in state drivers licence, pay any other tax. They just need to declare they're living in state. It's BS. The republicans in state passed a new law that would prevent them from voting in state but, a liberal judge tossed it aside for this election.
