So Bob, you crap in a box at the huntin’ shack. Does your Dad use the same box?

I think the lack of electricity has made Bob's guardian a little bit off his rocker at times. Maybe could use a little electro-therapy. .

So Bob, you crap in a box at the huntin’ shack. Does your Dad use the same box? We considered it, but no. He gets the pine shavings and Menards bucket in the garage. I get the clumpable cat litter in a box inside the cabin. I won’t let him bring that bucket inside. He thinks it’s so scent free, with his carbon ranting, but let me tell you something Jonny. With a nose like mine, nothing is scent free. And sometimes that’s not an asset.

Coleman Black Cat is a great heater. Not sure they make them anymore. Quiet, low to the floor, compact. It doesn't have one of those damn piezo ignition things either. Just use a lighter.

I don't know if they sell the black cats anymore but the replacement ($60) is what I use in my 5 by 5 shadow hunters. 1 lb lasts about 8 hours. Plenty of btu. Lower left in the picture. But a 5 x 5 blind has about 30% less cubic feet than a 6 x 6.

I think it's 3,000 BTU. I run it in a 4x8 enclosed blind. It's a pretty drafty box. This doesn't make it t-shirt weather inside. The other day it was 8 degrees. Running this, I still wear my insulated boots, down jacket, wool hat. I just use chemical hand warmers in my jacket pockets.
This thing lasts about all day long on high. It's cool enough in the blind that I can see my breath. But, with that setup, I am not "cold".
This heater sits right to the side of my seat, almost underneath me. Works great.
It doesn't crank the heat. But, it runs for hours with enough heat to take the edge off. It is low to the ground which means it does a better job keeping my toes warm. It's run reliably for 10 years, never a glitch.
Edit - I didn't have to wear my bibs, just plain old jeans like God meant it to be. This was a win for sure.

Maybe 50 with recurves/longbows. Several more barebow compound. Killed my first deer with a rifle this fall.

I didn't look close. Thought that was a fishing rod.

I rarely see bucks from the blind and was starting to blame the heater...apparently that's not the problem.

I have six Little Buddy heaters in box stands. The have worked well. I do add the filters between the heater and hose. They are all hooked to 20# cylinders. We did have one hose go bad this year.

What happens when the hose goes "bad" Not positive, but as I understand it, the older hoses can sluff off the interior lining and clog up things. Thus the recommendation for filters to keep them from wrecking the heater. It may also be moisture that got it in while it was unhooked for a time this fall. Worked for a couple days, then puked. Just couldn’t get any volume of lp thru it. I like to leave them hooked to heater and tank all year to keep hoses sealed up.
