What happens when the hose goes "bad" Not positive, but as I understand it, the older hoses can sluff off the interior lining and clog up things. Thus the recommendation for filters to keep them from wrecking the heater. It may also be moisture that got it in while it was unhooked for a time this fall. Worked for a couple days, then puked. Just couldn’t get any volume of lp thru it. I like to leave them hooked to heater and tank all year to keep hoses sealed up. Red squirrels chewed thru my hose just before season. I ordered a new hose from amazon, also cleaned area in heater with rubbing alcohol. Would work with one pound cylinders but only pilot from 20 pound tank and new hose. Not enough gas coming thru. Is valve on tank shot or just full of ice from water running in as red squirrels chewed on top of hose. New hose now has 4 feet of window screen on the lower end of it. What do you do if valves are bad on tank? I have another tank like that.

Any good JPS would know that if you get a bad valve on a tank......you take that tank to one of the locations that exchanges full tanks for old tanks. Kinda like getting a new lamp for old.

A quick trip to the Menards outdoor propane kiosk, and we had 2 functional tanks with 15 lbs of gas in each of 'em.

What do you do if valves are bad on tank? I have another tank like that. It is possible your valve on tank went bad but more likely your internal safety valve that are in all propane tanks except 1 pound tanks locked up. This happens when you open tank valve too fast. The propane companies have a valve that attaches to tank valve to release the safety valve or just let tank sit and it will eventually release by itself. Next time hold the knob on heater in ignite position/pilot light, than barely crack the knob on propane tank. Hold the heater button down for about a minute, this will allow propane to fill the hose with out restricting the flow and engaging the internal safety valve. After that minute let the igniter button up and depress again. Your pilot light should light and your heater should function as normal. Some tanks have really touchy safety valves. My son who works for Ferrell Gas explained the procedure and it works perfectly. He also got me a tool to unlock the safety valve in case I lock a tank up.

I will give it a try. This is one of the bigger cylinders that they do not exchange.

My Mr. Heater works with one pound cylinders. It has a filter on it and works with the new 12 pound hose on one of the tanks, but not the other tank.
Both tanks work on the gas grill.
I have no idea why one tank and not the other except a sticky safety valve???
Now I wonder which tank I used the last few years. Maybe I had never tried the one tank on the heater.

^ Looks good Nitro. I see they are furnished with a hose and regulator.....which would help with the cost (which is competitive with the Buddy Heaters). Do you know how long the hose is??

Within walking distance. He sells lots of things. SD would need real power. With SD up there for eighteen days, there should be some real JPS women looking for a warm place for the winter.

I’m going to try one of these when I build my enclosed tower blinds next year.
