Never got enough signal to get the On X app working before I went out today. I did use the pictures and landmarks I had, and went at it with the iPhone compass. My first attempt at it failed, and I ended up N/NW instead of W/NW. I was kinda pissed about that, but who do you blame. I decided to give it another try and used it to bomb my way through my clear cut about 300 yards, and I came out exactly where I wanted to. I was pretty impressed with that. Might have to invest in a real compass.

SD,
Have you tried using the iPhone maps and switching to satellite? You can mark your locations and see where you're at on the aerial map.

Download your area for OnX. You can then use it in airplane mode if there is no service.
