Never saw anything like it. What kind of reviews does it have? Don't do as much cutting as I use to but when I did I tried all different things. I had the best results sharpening by hand. I have one of these, drive it into stump, clamp bar to it and get the file out.

Couple good reviews. Pricey though. But if it works and lasts a long time...

If it works super well I’d have no problem paying that price. I don’t like sharpening chains... currently just use file.

But they also admitted they can't sharpen worth a crap with a file.

Its way faster than any file. Well it better be, but is your extension cord long enough to reach out to the woods. Being proficient with a file keeps you going if your chain gets dull or if you hit something embedded in the tree.

Or bring multiple chains..... all sharpened and ready to go.

Or bring multiple chains..... all sharpened and ready to go. I use to carry 4 chains with me. Cutting all day can be rough on chains depending on the wood. Then hit nail or bullet embedded into a tree or hit the dirt, your done for. I learned to use a file, rather than cutting with a dull chain. Not saying file sharpening is for everyone but it worked best for me. Once I became good at it I can sharpen a chain in less than 5 minutes.

Yea. We bring a file too.
But we never cut all day. Few times a year go do clean up and get some firewood. He cuts all the time around his house. He might not have any trees in 10 years. He just likes to cut wood i think...

I use a file in emergency. I usually don't make it through the extra chains I bring though.
Always make sure you are short of either gas, bar oil, or chains before you head out!

I may give something like this a try when I get back to sawing in Spring.

Kooch, We have one of these Timber Tuff sharpeners we bought for $99. I guess they're more now. I let my brother sharpen them but, the unit has paid for itself already. I agree with Tooln that users should learn to use a file but, I find it much easier to bring extra chains and swap when it dulls. I actually now bring an extra saw in case one has issues I can keep on cutting with the backup. www.amazon.com/Timber-Tuff-CS-BWM-Benchtop-Sharpener/dp/B001MWS9VW

Yeah, I normally bring a couple chains. Sometimes I end up needing a second. Sometimes I don't. But now that I have a place to stay I'm looking for something to do at night. No TV up there and I like it that way. I'm up there alone a lot too. So I end up sharpening knifes, fiddling with gear....
Maybe a file and some patience is a good idea. Time to kill after dark.
