I was going to PM Mo about this but figured why not post it publically for everyone to read in case they have the same questions or even some comments.
Looking for Red clover to overseed my dead brassica plots to try something new. I should have some winter rye coming up but I figured why not seed and hit the spots that don't and try and cover the soil and feed a few deer this summer while putting some N back in? What seed rate would you suggest.
Then my plan is to re evaluate it this summer and see how the clover is doing (would prob have to mow the WR I would think) and then either nuke everything and plant a mix of WR, WW peas maybe tillage radish mix (similar to the LC cereal mix) Or if the clover is doing well over seed again and just let it be clover.
What is your price per lbs of med red clover?
Then Egyptian wheat. What is a good seeding rate for a field to block visual? How wide do I need to figure? Is that seed reasonable to ship if I buy it from you? If so, how much? I will need to screen about 1,000' of distance I figure along the road. (This is for my neighbors up by the cabin).
Thanks.

First of all, I will be glad to have full bags shipped out of Lacrosse for anyone located around the country, or you can pick them up at any of there wholesale locations as long as it is paid for in advance. Shipping is free on orders over $1,000, and only $20 for any amount under $1,000. Also I have most everything on hand year round in my shed if some guys in the area want to stop and shop. I can weigh out any amount you may need. However, I am not looking to ship anymore partial bags or small amounts. I just dont have the time to box the crap up.
With all that being said. 50lb bags of Coated Med Red Clover are $105 currently.

And that Med Red will keep good for a few years right if kept in a cool dry dark place right?
What about the Egyptian wheat?
So that means I'll have to buy full bags of brassica from you or find somewhere else as well? How big of bags do those come in?

Sorghum Sudan Grass is $23 for a 50lb bag. Seed 25lbs per acre.
Sorry, I gave up my shipping that I was paying for to have them stop by once a week. No money in food plot seed for wasting time boxing it up.

How wide should I plan on MO? Will the Sorghum work good in heavy soils? I assume that is a broadcast rate?
Also is that the hybrid or regular? I'm not sure. I just see talk about hybrid sorghum sudan

That is crazy because there are threads elsewhere comparing the pros and cons of each. LOL

I never realized you could ship any where in the country and it not cost a fortune in shipping.
When you say full bags, is that always 50 pounds? I typically buy 200-300 of winter rye, and 10 or less of clovers and brassica.
It sounds like the clover and brassica is too little to be worth your while.

They do have a few items in 25lb bags they will ship, like Vivant Brassica. Otherwise most Items are in 50lb bags. They do ship some bob seed that is located on the website at www.lacrosseseed.com/But like I said before, I will be glad to weigh out small amounts of what ever a guy needs if you swing by the seed shed. I just ain't screwing around with shipping anymore. The packing tape costs more than the dollar profit on 5lbs of turnips.
