John--I have know way to verify this, but I along with others strongly believe our local district may have tampered with a past referendum vote. Two prior votes, had went down with big defeats, like 39% yes votes. Then amazingly the results changed. Early township votes came in and all but one were negative, it looked like it was going to fail again. The district needed a miraculous 73% vote was needed by the City **(the votes were counted at the school)...yep you guessed it, it passed by 74%, and the overall referendum squeaked by as a pass. How the city voted 39% and then around 40% in the past two referendums, then jumped to 74%...so fishy. Well, I would believe that. Our district admin through out the election judge from the NO side, would not let him in to watch the vote count the last time. Then after they declared a win. They destroyed the ballots so no one could look at them. Fishy? You fucking right its fishy! We took it to court and the judge through it out on a technicality! Because the clerk didnt stamp the paperwork we filed on the proper day. So it made us look late to file the lawsuit. All fucking crooks! So once it goes through, you have no recourse! And they can vote for these things every 6 months as long as they want. No way to stop them. Other than overwelm them with no votes. School systems are almost as crooked as attorneys!

I agree that these school districts are relentless on their referendums. AND......every time they bring back their proposals......they want far MORE money than the last time. I think it's a scare tactic to drive folks to accept their plans before it costs still more .
None of these school districts witll "make do" with what they currently have. It's all about providing the best at whatever the cost may be. Little common sense in their plans. They may need 10 more class rooms......but they go for whole new schools and add new gyms and athletic stadiums - yadda, yadda. Still.....educaton has not improved. Kinda sad.

It seems like our referendum was lower in dollars after the first one failed.
