Amazes me and my eyes cross every time u guys talk about apple trees. Scions. Grafting. Rootstock. Etc.
Yet fascinating as well.
I could talk about our new gen7 data center products coming out this fall. Our asics will have analytics built into the logic. 64 gig speeds. Automatic virtual circuit buffer credit recovery. But it might make you all feel like I do with apple trees. 👍

You've got overweight boxes. Oversized boxes. Stuff not in boxes. I could go on and on.

So I was at Fleet Farm in Manitowoc today. They have a whole bunch of these trees, They have Dolgo, Whitney and a few other varieties. They looked really nice. Are Dolgo and Whitney good crab apple varieties for deer.

Are Dolgo and Whitney good crab apple varieties for deer. They are both early varieties. I am sure deer will eat them both, but I am not a fan of Dolgo crabs for fresh eating. Whitneys are sweet and crunchy when perfectly ripe. Dolgos are more akin to vinegar than sugar. Both will survive some wicked winters, Dolgo is likely hardier than Whitney, reliably producing fruit in interior Alaska. My Whitney on m7 came through -38 temps with zero damage and looks like it will be loaded with blossoms soon.

I know I have told you this... but when I grew up in northern Mn, the only apple tree we had was a dolgo. The trick to liking them is to get past the first one and water core helps a bit. I had my pockets full of them while riding my bike. You just need to pop the whole dolgo in your mouth and chew it up. The second one tastes great.

Dolgos are for people who can't grow edible crabs

Don’t look for worm holes, they are probably only brain worms anyway. Never affected me a bit, right?

Too late for these 19.99 Fleet farm trees, the ones they had in Alexandria didn’t look that great?
