Any suggestions on what to use for fert on newly planted grass seed from last fall that came pretty well last fall but is slow to start this spring. I don’t want to burn it by doing something wrong...

Don't fertilize it, you'll just have mow it more!

It’s only a portion of the yard, the one part I do care about... I have plenty of other crappy grass to grow!

Fescue? I would probably hit it with a few mild shots of nitrogen if I was worried about burning it. Did you get good germination? If you aren't going to need to reseed any of it you might opt for a weed-n-feed to keep weeds from germinating.

I made the mistake of fertilizer and lime on the lawn of the first home I owned. Learned my lesson, never again.

Then I thought maybe that’d be a mistake. It’s already greener than the neighborhood average. I don’t want to cut it more than I already do.

Best thing I ever saw make grass grow was grey water from the septic tank!

Best thing I ever saw make grass grow was grey water from the septic tank! I was going to suggest getting a “litter box pail’ like SD has.

I can't bitch too much though. Only had to mow 3 times last year. This year is a full season though.

I have had several folks complain about how "dirty" dogs are and why they prefer a cat. Ummm....you prefer an animal that throws up hair balls and you intentionally trained to shit in the house...and claim that is cleaner???
