Does anyone use planks for grilling? I've been thinking of giving them a try. Any pros or cons.

I've never used them myself. Watched a buddy cook on them a few times and I've ate food cooked on them. It tasted like grilled food, not much more I can add...I've heard the food tends to hold moisture better when cooked on them?

I'm looking to grill fish. It's kind of hard to do fish on a grill without it falling apart and falling through. I've heard that planks work real good for that.

Ahhh... get a grill mat.
I used planks once. Not my fave...
Grill mats rock. U even still get grill marks. We do veggies. Fish. Shrimp. Awesome results.
Planks... thats yesterdays news.

I made some cod on the grill tonight using cedar planks. I soaked the fish in some milk for about an hour. Seasoned with lemon pepper and salt, I also basted mine with butter. Butter basted is on the right. Had one little flare up. Needless to say I'm hooked, we both loved the taste. Seasoning wasn't over powered and a good smoke flavor.
