Hey guys, We're working on cleaning out some of the old stuff at the SD property. There's an old hay loader, made by Minneapolis Moline, and nobody knows how much to ask for this. Seems pretty obsolete to me, but FIL says it works perfectly still. It's not pristine. A quick google didn't find any for sale so I don't know what an appropriate price would be. Thoughts? Here's the only picture I have of it. It looks a lot like this, only not red, and a little rusty.

I wonder if anyone puts up loose hay lake that anymore??? As Tooln says.....maybe the Amish? I would not think its a high value machine.....but what do I know? I suppose it would be cheaper than owning a baler in these times.....especially if you just own a few horses. The thing with this is....you need about three people to operate.....one to drive the tractor and two with forks standing on the trailer stacking hay as its lifted onto the towed trailer behind the stacker. Not for everybody.

Mennonite's or Amish will be your buyers. See them in use around here all the time on the Amish farms.

Around my neck of the woods there is a local consignment a few times a year. Its geared towards Amish and Mennonites. You'd be surprised the $$$$ some of that old equipment brings. Remember that shit isn't made anymore and both Mennonites and Amish pump out kids like rabbits. Once the kids leave the folks farm they start their own and need equipment.

Did a google search, found a number. Some nice old lady answered and told me her husband passed away and it was him that was into it. She found a number of another guy that is "a real Minneapolis Moline man". So I called him. Apparently he's a long-haul trucker. But he's going to call me when he's done with this trip.

As soon as you sell it you will regret it. Good hay loaders are tough to find in a pinch. Restore that thing for sure.

Sale pending to some dude from IL that's going to drive out to pick it up. Cool. Got to ask, did you get a lot for it? How was it advertised that some guy from IL is coming for it.

Craigslist. He got more than he anticipated. Listed it high. Buyer, apparently, is a guy that collects Minneapolis Moline stuff. We'll see if he follows through. It's a long drive. FIL told him to bring cash. So we'll see.
