I feel we need a strong NRA, but every organization struggles at some point. They seem to get top heavy. I fear these red flag rules and liberal judges taking people’s guns away. I just don’t know how you define when people are a significant risk. Every divorce or break up could lead to the loss of someone ‘s guns. Who would eventually get them? Would they ever be returned? Would County and city governments pay for storage or would it just be a permanent confiscation and destruction of the guns? When they have a rape and kill list can be the starting point.

Govt agencies act with way too much latitude. Anybody that thinks the red flag laws will be just is mistaken. Over reach will be unbelievable.
SIRI could turn in enough shit to get guns taken away from everybody with a cell plan.

You think just because they've used the FBI, NSA, SEC, FTC, FEC, IRS, EPA, USDA, FDA, Dept of Education, Dept of the Interior, commission on presidential debates, subpoena powers of the congress, endangered species act, and the federal courts as weapons against political enemies that it'll happen with this too? Ok there tin foil man...

Maybe that's a naive thought but the shear size, power, and money involved make it hard to imagine the NRA going away.
The Second expressed states that it's not the citizens who are to be regulated, but it's the government who is to be monitored so that our rights are not infringed.
Gun design has not changed in 100 yrs., there is nothing new about them that has caused a rash of shootings. Guns are not mind altering substances that impairs a persons thoughts or judgments and makes them irresponsible. Owning a gun does not make me morally capable of murder. There is no reason these shootings can be blamed on guns. If guns are more highly regulated people will turn to bombs and vehicles for their mode of action. Been proven all over the world.
Killing won't stop until the culture changes. I blame the media and internet; Trump says "there are fine people on both sides" and they scream racist for 3 yrs, Facebook allows Russia to post ads and propaganda and Trump is a traitor and conspirator, Trump tells a governor that his city is a rathole and once again he is a racist, he throws a counter punch after being attacked by a woman and he is a sexist, etc. The media is on a hate filled tirade that is fostering extremism and division (I'm not saying he isn't any of those things, but I do feel the media blows everything out of proportion). Every single shooting was with an "AR style", "AK Style", or "Assault Weapon" to promote their agenda. Facts don't matter as long as fear, hate, and division can be attained.
Combine the media's misgivings with the fact that the internet is a place that every social deviant in the world can find reassurance and affirmation that they are right (in their thinking and actions) on forums and you have a dangerous situation. Every racist, sexual predator, molester, and habitat manager out there can find a group that tells them they are not the outcast... but instead are the norm. They find a group that tells them they are right in their affliction and should act on their emotions. It's a dangerous situation in my opinion and nothing is being done to address the real problems.

I am not saying to regulate the guns, I am saying regulate the people. The gun is only the tool for these people. There has to be a way to take someone’s guns based on their intent and not wait for their actions. If someone is crazy enough to write a rape and kill list or tell people he is going to do a mass shooting they should be taken out with a preemptive strike. Same thing we to Islamic terrorists. Politicians will not solve this problem, law enforcement has to have support and tools to find these people before they strike.
