^ Nice Work, looks like its coming together nicely. Yep, its often 20% of the work that takes 80% of the time. It can be a pain. That should work nicely for you, great job! I hope so and think you. I figure it will either be a big success or a huge failure. All depends on it staying upright. It survived some strong winds the other night, but putting it in the field may be a bit of a different matter......we will find out soon enough. Man am I gonna be pissed if things don't go well.

Those outriggers are cool. Double burlap a great idea for windows. Black burlap you can open easier than camo. I think you will be glad you did not insulate it. Mice ruin most insulated blinds.. Flag is a great idea for making deer used to movement from the blind.

Flag is a great idea for making deer used to movement from the blind. I hope the blind is sealed well enough to retain heat well and to keep the mice out. Time will tell. I know preventing the mice is damn near impossible, but I have really tried on this build. My other blinds are not sealed nearly as well and we do just fine with a little heater, so I hope the "insulation" idea was simply over-kill on my part. I put the flags on the blinds simply to show others there is something over there! They may spook that really old buck...but when I have a crack at them the have one thing in mind and some flag waving isn't going to stop them. The "outrigger" was an after thought. I simply had the lumber and thought it was worth a shot. The simplicity of them is what got me...and they did help. The burlap was just a cheap option....I tried to focus on function and simplicity. I figure we will adjust the burlap height as desired at the start of the hunt so there shouldn't be any real movement beyond that....unless we bow hunt from it. Otherwise....it's simply a matter of sliding open the window enough to gun ad scope out the window.

I wouldn't worry about getting the scope out the window. Make damn sure the muzzle is out. Made the mistake of not having thee muzzle out of the blind one time.

If you are in Tapatalk, don’t click on the video screen. Click at the bottom of the image to go to YouTube. Then you will see an unmute button. Click it.

WARNING: THIS MATERIAL MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR BOB THE CAT! I have made the mistake of not getting the muzzle out the window before.....in the house....with a 30/30.....NOT FUN! I was shooting at a big stray cat that we had issues with. Blew one hell of a hole in the cat....but, I was totally deaf for roughly an hour!!! Seriously....I thought I had really fucked up! It's bad when your hearing improves when you start to hear the ringing!!!! My concern with the scope was simply making sure the "curtain" wasn't blocking the view was all.
