Had a guy come out to bid a fish pond dig in my abandoned gravel vein. Bad news is it will cost $3,200. Good news is I will get $8,100 for the clean fill.
Anybody have any experience pulling gravel out of a parcel they own? Any buyer beware issues? Permitting?

Thinking about a couple storage containers I can jump off and flail through the air!

Not sure about MN. In WI might have to get a mining permit.

In my township, before extracting any gravel for sale, you need to go through the land use permit process. Involve the DNR and get neighbors permission. Once approved your site area is changed to commercial taxes instead of AG taxes. You also need to submit a reclamation plan for when you are done with the pit. Taxes will stay commercial until you complete the plan to the township boards satisfaction. You also pay a $.10 per yard gravel tax for every yard removed. Happy Graveling Brooks!
