Jakes buck was checking scrapes. He hit this mock scrape and a few seconds later he had in arrow in him. Here’s the pic of the buck just a seconds before he was shot .

My old man got our last target buck tonite. 2.5 year old maybe 115 had to go. Still no hardcore rut action. Congratulations to Grandpa. Better buy a gun with a longer barrel!

Thanks to this "late" start to the firearm season, I finally get to see what a MN rut is supposed to look like. Last night I had a 140 class 10 pointer chasing does, as well as 3 other smaller bucks (no shots at the big boy). A few minutes ago, I had a 4 pointer in the back yard, a basket 6 about a hundred yards away and an 8 that sure looked to be pushing 140 about 50 yards away from the back patio. I'm not much of a morning hunter, but I guess I should be.

A 170+ green score was taken on the property across the road from where I hunted on Saturday. I have not seen a pic yet, but my Dad did and said its a brutus. The guy that showed him the pic is a legit deer guy, his step son shot it.
biggest I have on cam on the farm I hunt across the gravel road from where it was shot, is maybe a 130..... Kicker is the guy told my Dad the 170 that was shot is not the biggest buck on that place they have on cam. DOH! Guess what property I am hunting when I get back up there???
