Ordered these for my son. Got them today. Very nice socks in general. Rechargeable. We did a quick test on the Low setting. He will put em to the test this weekend. Low -6 hrs. Med - 4 hrs. High - 2 hrs. $40 on Amazon I'll be watching for an update. Years ago I had a pair of battery operated electric socks. Didn't work worth a crap.Ditto.

Late to the party on this but have had a Redneck for a few years. One key attribute is that they contain your scent if the windows are closed. I've had 25 deer directly down wind in a plot and have not been busted. It allow us to hunt plots no matter the wind. I'm sure a home build can be made scent tight but I don't believe Shadow Hunters and others with sliding windows would be as good. Grizzly Coolers makes a blind and a buddy bought a couple claiming they were way better than Rednecks. BUT, he's getting winded in them. Rednecks do get iced up a bit when it gets cold which is a pain, others may do better. The blind made in Melrose is sweet. I like the windows on it better than the Rednecks but I get a deal on Rednecks making them much more expensive.
Overall I like stands much better and I know someday I'll be unable to get a shot off due to being in a blind but if the weather is shitty or the wind is wrong they are awesome.

I usually leave one or more windows "up" and ready to shoot.....and leave my heaters on low or more at almost all times. Why? hot air rises.....and along with it your scent. I maintain that this effectively eliminates down-range scenting out of blinds in general. No "proof" other than my experiences.....but it's my story and I'm sticking to it. .

I joined the sissy ranks today, broke down and went to town to buy some 1 lb. propane cylinders for the Mr Buddy heater I've never used. Figured out how to run the thing to make sure it works, took it and a few cylinders to my box blind. Sitting in that thing is pretty much a waste of time except for the first 2 and last 2 hours though.

I leave a window open at all times and tend to agree about heat lifting scent. I was winded once and by a fawn! I still would rather be ready than needing to mess with windows. Often I don’t have time to open windows. I have read that with mature bucks you usually have five seconds to kill him or he is gone. That has been the case for me with the hunting pressure we have.

I wonder how many of those Buddy Heaters have been sold? Wow.....what a little gold mine that company has. I think I have bought 12 of 'em to date.....plus all the hoses and filters and such that got with 'em. This year I had a mouse nest in one of 'em.....and blew everything out with compressed air......or so I thought. I lit it back at my shed to test it out......and it went up in flames. Stinky damn thing. Beware if you leave these things in your blinds......the mice really like to build a nest in those heaters.....and it could be bad. I put mine out in late Sept this year......and that was a mistake. DO NOT LEAVE THEM OUT OVER WINTER. .....unless you have a very tight stand.....like a Red Neck.

My deer will blow when downwind of the blind unless I use Nosejammer. Don't know if I have ever talked about it but that shit is the BOMB!

Last year I set my tank, hose, and heater up three days before season. The red squirrels chewed the hose. I just set it up today and the new hose has aluminum window screen around the bottom four feet.

Once I get my blinds, wind won't be much of an issue due to placement. That said, I still don't know if Nosejammer is a scam or what...but it either works or I've gotten very lucky this year. I always spray the tops and bottoms of my boots on the way in with maybe a 5 second blast. I've had numerous does and bucks down wind (or at least where I perceive down wind to be) of me this year and not one has spooked due to scent. I do always shower with unscented soap before heading out and do wash my clothes in unscented soap each season. Clothes get stored in giant ziplocs. Maybe it's luck, maybe it's the 'jammer, maybe it's a combo...I don't know

Those look interesting Kooch. How hard are they to put on in the stand? If I can keep my feet warm I'm good to go for a long sit in cold temps. My core body is usually fine, but when I lose my toes, down the ladder I goes.

I'll be watching for an update. Years ago I had a pair of battery operated electric socks. Didn't work worth a crap.Ditto. He was out from 2 to close tonight on a ladder stand. He used them on low the whole time and his feet never got cold. He said it was a nice low warmth the whole time. Now the question is,,,, longevity of the product. Will they last some years whether its the socks for the batteries.
