Today's wind has convinced me that it's time for a nice, enclosed blind (or two). I'm too lazy to read through all the posts on other threads that are somewhat related to this topic (sorry).
I've looked at Redneck and Tree Stands Direct online. Both seem like nice set ups. The Rednecks are more money, no idea if they're worth it or not. I'm looking for a stand that I can archery hunt (vertical bow) out of now, as well as firearm and maybe crossbow hunt (when I'm 60+) in the future.
I have no way of putting a stand like this up. How complicated of a deal is it? I'd either hire my SIL or somebody local to put it up for me.
Any info welcome. Thanks

I have a Redneck stand that I use for both bow and gun and they are great. Well I call it my stand because it's on my land, but my dad bought it. He said he's getting old and he wants a nice stand to sit in all day. They're actually not too hard to put up - my dad and I put ours up in a couple hours. We had the stand and all the parts in boxes on a trailer and drove the whole works out to the field edge where we wanted to put it up. We assembled it right there and then lifted it up using the atv winch. It made me pretty nervous doing that, but it worked just like the directions said it would. You could rig up a come-along to lift it up or just hook a tow strap to a truck. The assembly and setup wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
I haven't hunted other store bought permanent stands, but I'd definitely recommend the Redneck for both bow and gun hunting

Brad and I both got new Redneck Buck Palace 6x6 blinds late this summer. They are very nice . The guy we bought them from delivered the blinds to our properties and completely set them up for 299.00. For what you pay for them I would rather have the dealer set them up for that price vs taking the chance of screwing up and damaging it. I also have an older Shadow hunter combo gun/bow 6x6 blind. Since I bought it they have made some changes to the window layouts. I like the simplicity of how the windows open on this blind along with the plexi window and storm shutter. Also take a look at Zero4outdoors.com They make a quality blind also.

Reasons to build your own, and on the ground. See list of absolute indisputable truths below pics. Top 8 Reasons My Way Is The Best Way8. A 6x6 on the ground cost ~$225/ea. 7. No floor noise from a ground blind like a tower blind. 6. Wood chip floor base provides powerful cover scent. 5. No thermal risk from being elevated. 4. You can burn this to the ground and start over if you don't like it. 3. You can piss inside your ground blind and kick wood chips over it. 2. You can't fall out of a ground blind. 1. By building two of these yourself, you can take the $7,000 you saved and buy an ATV flail mower and convert your power over to solar with money left over for propane and a year's supply of Busch Light.

Yeah, those fill a bill for firearm season but I don't see fooling too many mature bucks at 15 yards with one of them. I'm sure I could get a buck within that distance, but how do you pull off the shot? FWIW...I have two ground blinds that I've set up for shotgun hunting. They are just fine that purpose and I've got less than $300 in materials tied up in them. They aren't worth shit for bowhunting though.

Or that they'll never get used to that giant feat of bushcrafting on the ground?

My ground blinds have long narrow "slits" for windows.

I agree that $299 is a fair price to have it delivered and set up. I'd pay that for sure.
The Buck Palace 6x6 seems to be the right size in my opinion. Lots of room with 1 person and a little tight with 2, but not too bad.

My amish neighbor is the guy who builds the deer stand direct stands. If you want i can check and see what he'll do for a price and if he/we can set it up for ya. I'm sure he won't charge much or at all to set it up if I'm helping out 😉

For 1 person the Predator would work great but during gun season I have my wife along or son-in-law along and the extra foot of depth helps. Also have 2 new grandsons that I hope to take with when they get a little older. Oh and when I was shopping my wife said get the bigger one. Lol

I have been sitting in a heater body suit which is ok, but hard to access crossbow. Truth is that I don’t want to shoot a deer with the bow anyway. I just don’t have the love for bow hunting that I had twenty plus years ago. Give me a rifle! I want to hunt with my wife and daughter.

I have a Redneck and a Banks and I prefer the Redneck. The banks are small for what you pay for. The Redneck is well thought out and everything seems to work well. I have a Big Country and the Buck Palace and if you have two full size adults the Big Country is not to big.
I built my own stand and would not do that again. If they will deliver and setup I would do that.
