Interesting. I would've thought they'd chose an area in maybe Vernon county or so to study and compare it to the results of the eastern Iowa/W Dane counties. More of extreme difference in CWD prevalence

This looks like it could produce some interesting results at the end of this study. Looks like it might produce some usable data and maybe lead to some breakthroughs in CWD, I hope so.

Was there a time period for the study? I didn't see that in there

Am I the only one surprised to learn there is a live animal test for CWD?

I'm not surprised, I thought it was common knowledge? It has been a recent development though, so maybe not that well known?

Price makes it unpractical for large scale wild testing. Good for pens

As I recall, the accuracy leaves a bit to be desired as well, not 100% effective test, I thought I read around 80-ish%, IIRC?

I am hoping this study might help improve testing.

As I recall, the accuracy leaves a bit to be desired as well, not 100% effective test, I thought I read around 80-ish%, IIRC? Since this is a mortality study, hopefully they will test again at death. But then they would have to try to determine if it had CWD and the live test missed it, or if it was CWD free at collaring and contracted it afterwards.
