Somebody on this forum ought to buy Tool'n's drop spreader. He and I have similar cut-down versions of the famous EZ Flow Drop Spreader. I think Mike did his after I did mine. They apply any fertilizer or AG LIME very well. Takes all the work out of applying Ag Lime.
I've put down over 33 tons with my spreader using a wheeler to pull it. Mike's is a real steal. You could not buy as good of a new one for six times that amount he is asking. wish someone that needs allot of soil amendments on here would buy this. I'd think you could use this a few times and get your money back. Batman? .....are you listening?

A guy down the road from me (in MN) used to operate a "welding shop". Did repair work mostly. Then he went in to doing "metal art". Goes to flea markets and sells signs and such like you're proposing. Does real well and now does little repair welding....unless he is slow in the metal art. He did learn how to do various colors in metal via acid etch. He seems to do allot of fish.....and can pull off some exotic colors. Also does American flags etc. My wife and I call him the Artist formerly known as Welder. . I'm already practicing etching on my bench at work. Vinegars and even mustard from the break room.

After the Artist above learned to do stainless in Red, White, and Blue.....he has done more American Flags than you can shake a stick at. Just saying. You could come up this summer and learn from him how he does it?? He wins lots of artist awards and has done some unique stuff. Gets paid huge money for some of his art. Thousands. I think he does allot of flame cutting too.....for a rustic or feathered edge look?

I'd make a trip up there to see it before I drop that kind of money on it. Time will tell.

We are looking in the Prairie du Chien area, or just across the river into Iowa. The 40 is going for sale, I currently have a good offer but am in no hurry. Depending on what we find plotting is guestionable. I've always been fixing stuff and welding was a part of it. I plan to get a CNC water table plasma cutter. Do welding repair, light fabricatuon, make signs, yard art and other stuff. I look at this being something I can do year round at my own pace and make a few bucks along the way. The wife enjoys painting so she be involved in that part. We'll get a shit load of stuff ready to sell, pack the truck and trailer and travel to small country fairs, flee markets and such, set up a table and sell. Since the wife's a looker she'll be good at the sales end of it. I don't plan on leaving here, shit I may even be able to sell you something. Yep Tom we go back many years, never meet but have talked to each other a few times and I consider you a friend as I do many others of you here. I hope this answers everyone's questions. I like the Prairie du Chien area. If you're going to hit the craft fair circuit, I bet you'll end up in Little Falls, MN some September. I think it's one of the largest craft fairs in the upper midwest. There's a cool craft fair in Eagle River every fall too, usually coincides with Colorama weekend as I recall. Good luck wherever you end up Mike

So many people I've seen retire had no plan other than "not go to work anymore". Sounds like you have somewhat of a passion for metalworking, should be a good time for you and the wife. Good luck to you guys, and does this mean you are retiring from the forum? Disconnect, loose interest, and all that...

I just want something to keep me busy, I've seen to many people who retire then bitch and moan they have nothing to do and just get fat and die. You can't get rid of me that easy. One place we are thinking has prime hunting it's 10 acres with lot of woods attached. Small kill plot with ATV and roth disk will do the trick. Kind of like hunting from the house or shop in this case. Only problem is the house is a log house and I'm not looking for that kind of maintenance.

Well 2 weeks ago I sold the box blade. Saturday a guy calls and wants to look at the tractor. Half hour later he shows up. Likes what he sees and said I have to check with the bank and I'll get back to you Monday. I figured yea that's going to happen. He does call and asked what I'd take for everything. After a few minutes of figuring in give him a number. He counters close to my number we split the difference. I know he serious as he asked how to spell my last name so the bank can make out the cashier's check correctly. Selling everything at once really worked out good for me.

I’d still call issuing bank to verify cashiers check before you let him leave with stuff. Don’t use phone number on the check either. Use the # from bank website
