Don’t know how many thousands of games of 8 ball I have played/watched but I finally Sunk the 8 on the break. Arcus put the cover on the table and walked away.

I did that once in college at a bar. One of my crowning athletic achievements.

I'm not a big pool player, but things i just read is officially sinking 8 ball on break means the 8 ball gets spotted back on to the table.
House rules (especially in bars where doing the above is not possible with pay to play tables) are where this rule comes from.. Not that anyone cares what the official rules are.

As far as I know if you sink the ball on the break you win the game. At least that's how all pool players played in the bars I played in. Also, it's call pocket (straight in) not last pocket for the eight ball.

My dad makes up all kind of rules when we play pool and cards. Glad he does not know who Siri is or how to google anything.

I remember playing in college with a guy that always played called pocket for the 8 ball and you have to bounce off a rail, could not just hit it straight in.

Good for you Batman. I've played many thousands of game of poo. Many combinations, last packet, straight in, slop, no slop, call every shot, rail every shot, depending on the location. I've made 8 on the brake several time's and ran the table many more. I actually get more of a thrill running the table. Also played 9 ball and have entered a few hundred tournaments over the years. I loved playing 3 rail on the 8. I played league for many years and team captain most of them. Made enough $$ to buy a custom cue 40 years ago. Haven't played in several years now, makes me wonder if I still have it. Even if I can't shoot worth a shit now I have a shit load of trophies to prove I once was way above average.

Sounds like you were pretty good Tooln! I bet you still are. Pool is a lot like singing... I'm bad enough at either one that neither should ever happen in public.
