Was wondering how many guys use lighted reticle scopes for deer hunting and how they work for you.
I frequently have deer coming in and out of my prairie grass right at dusk and was thinking a lighted reticle would be good for zeroing in on the deer.
Are there any advantages or disadvantages?

I had this one on my Tikka 308 for 2 years. I liked it. Moving it to a AR coyote gun now.

Do you still have the Tikka? What are you replacing it with?

I put this scope on my Tikka T3X. Its one of the best cheap scopes I have ever used. As good as a $1500 scope. Great vision up to 5-600 yards. Love it.

We shoot a red-dot at dusk quite a bit while plinking with .22's. I would advise finding a scope with a VERY low setting. I've found that it's easy to be to bright and cover the target when everything is dark and dingy.

I have one on my deer gun, Howa 1500 in 308, but hardly ever use it. Basic "+" that has 5 different settings in red or green. ONLY real advantage I would see is in the low light conditions.... Typically when I am shooting a deer the last thing I am thinking about is turning the scope on.

I have lighted reticle on crossbow that is adjustable. If it isn't adjustable it might be over lit and actually be detrimental. I have Lueopold VX-III scopes on my deer rifles and have not had problem seeing crosshairs until closing time. Now my Lueopold scope on muzzle loader is another story, just about impossible to see cross hairs or deer at closing time.
