This is fantastic. What they're essentially saying is, "if a tree dies in the forest, nothing will grow in it's place unless we plant it." They're going to put in a bunch of seedlings of trees that are already growing there. The DNR took some major heat for cutting down a real nice 12-14 acre block of trees on public land in Lac Qui Parle County. A real popular deer and pheasant spot. It got real ugly with calls and the DNR employees were bashed hard!!
They even cut oak trees. Crazy

There wouldn't be a tree standing in the dark green areas if the state and feds had the power.
