Any of you guys build and sink fish structures? Do you make them out of wood or PVC? Preference?

Yes I have made a few for my pond using milk crates and pvc. There was an old thread somewhere on one of the other forums that had pictures but I can't remember which one. MnFish has made some good ones as well, maybe he still has pictures. I have seen good results with all species congregating around them but is kind of a pain in the ass when I have other people fish, as they always get hung up on them. Also I have lost bigger fish when they headed for the structure.

I like PVC. What is your goal for the structure? Specie type? I am trying to find the pics of the structures I made last season. These were designed with the intent of holding black crappies mid summer.

I just want something to focus on for fishing in our pond. It would be for bank fishing, within casting distance, and preferably not real snagable. Summer crappie would be great but I'm not real picky. It doesn't need to be specific, I just like to catch fish. Why do you guys like PVC? I would think wood would be more natural (maybe more prone to snagging?).

Dang. That's a lot of ideas. Doesn't seem like you could go wrong no matter what you built.

My crappie structure design. Virtually snag proof.
