Big Ten just cancelled conference tournament. That tells me that March Madness is gonzo. They cancelled about an hour ago (15 minutes prior to tip) along with the rest of the Power 5 leagues. Big East still playing, as of now. Shit sucks.

Big Ten just cancelled conference tournament. That tells me that March Madness is gonzo. Big XII did too. I think a second player for the Jazz testing positive pushed them over the edge to cancel. Nobody wants to be responsible for ALL the players getting it so they are siding on the side of caution. I get the feeling that regardless of how bad (or not bad) the virus actually is that nobody wants to be left with fingers pointed at them.

it's all but over. It's a matter of when the NCAA tournament gets cancelled/postponed, not if.

Spring training will be cancelled soon. I'm guessing professional sports and the NCAA basketball tournament may still go on, but after a significant delay. The logistics of re-scheduling will be a nightmare, so who knows what will happen.

I think the hope would be this get better in the next month or so before MLB starts? dunno. Edit: That didn't last long. Opening day pushed back at least two weeks.

Everything is cancelled. Fuck all this noise. At least we have a title to hang our hat on. Great season. Next year should be fun.

Illinois and Michigan basketball teams this year are why I said fire Greg Gard two years ago. Just can't compete. Gard will always field "competitive" teams, but watching IL and MI this year shows why the true bball stars will never play at UW with the current regime.
edit...not even to mention IA....or OSU

The B1G is the best it’s been in 40 years and we should fire the guy that was COY last year and won a conference title because we lost to top 5 teams in the country.
Crazy sauce.

COY in a non-year, what would they have done in the tournament? Same as always. Didn't win a conference title...there was no conference title except in "Covid" terms last year. WI has stayed the course. MI, IA, IL, and OSU have moved forward athletically. Most really athletically talented kids want to play under a more offensively exciting system than UW's

We were B1G champs last year in a regular season. Won 8 games to end the year. We were one of the hottest teams entering the tournament.
They’ve got the rings to prove it.

Means a shit ton more than the B1G tourney title. They were robbed last year. Easily a sweet 16 team the way they were playing.

So he's won 2 third round games then? I don't doubt the strength of the B1G. What will you say if MI or IL advance past the third round this year (as they both should, both are really good teams)? Fluke? What if one of them wins it all? Is that worth less than continued mediocrity? UW and Gard will never be able to recruit the kind of talent that will be required to win it all. They'll always be competitive. That's just peachy...but after a few decades of being "good" it would sure be nice to be "great"

We have our best class on paper coming in next year. Our 2020 class was really good and the two guys who missed this year look to be back next year. The future looks good.
Michigan isn’t winning shit. They just lost one of their best players.
Illinois still hasn’t won shit. They haven’t won a tournament game in over a decade. You want to beat their chest? Give me a break.
