Just read an update. Said that thousands have shown up and a lot of them are armed (even though the gov had said firearms were banned at the rally). Good for them! I'm not there, but I get the feeling that the Virginian government should probably tread lightly here. My gut tells me those guys protesting aren't making a "suggestion" or complaint. How do you guys think it will all turn out? I fear if the Virginian population doesn't stand their ground then other states will follow with heavy control laws.

Virginia's new Democratic governor is trying to pass some gun control laws. The people are protesting, lots of hoopla. Looks like kind of a big deal to me. I would love to see the Democrats have to back down on this. Google "Virginia protest" and ignore anything to do with the 2017 Charlottesville stuff.

I had no idea that was going on. That would be a huge win if they can open some eyes and this ends up stalling out.

Gonna be a tough road in Virginia. Hillary's buddy Terry McCauligh (sp?) was governor there before their current governor. One of his achievements was restoring voting rights to felons. That put 200,000 potential new voters largely in the democrat column. The impact on a statewide race could be as high as a 5% increase in margin based on 50% turnout. It's already blue, and with the stroke of a pen, they gave themselves a bunch more votes.

A lot of the population is military (I believe all branches are represented there as well as FBI and CIA training facilities). They are mostly republican but vote in other states... but they still live there and are affected by these laws. Goofy situation in that a major part of the population taking up space there is pro-gun but are not voters for the state.

Weapons were just banned inside the fence they erected around the Capitol. Outside fence is where all the guys with rifles were.

I think the gun owners win the argument when facts are used. Good for them, someday it could happen in our state and hopefully we all would head to the capital.

I love the part when after the rally all the people there policed the grounds for garbage before they left. LOL!
