Still no bucks on camera since May. The doe are there feeding all hours of the day but, mostly in the daylight.

My better deer have dropped off camera but I have a ton of does and several spike to 6 point bucks wandering around. My guess is the better bucks are back in the thick stuff and not out near the woods edge where I have my cameras. Once We get later into October the deer movement will pick up.

Even my trophy spikes have disappeared. It would be fascinating to know what deer eat from Sept 1st to Dec 31st day by day and depending on weather. I am blown away that my deer haven't been pounding the yard plot. It's october 5th. I should be running out of clover in 15 days, and they haven't even begun. Anything they browsed off has regrown. And I killed off 80% of my clover with the dirt work this summer.

The poor hugel section is probably just getting scalped. That was my best forage going into fall.

I have noticed a drop off in photos on my plots the last 4 days. I think the doe here are hitting the oaks for acorns.

I have seen a few spring flowers growing. Frost hasn’t killed those plants, yet. I feel the are enjoying a spring like feast as well as acorns, beans, and corn. The regrowth in harvested bean fields is amazing and I have 160 acres across the road with a cover crop of rye and the regrowth. It is getting some use. I bet swamp edges are full of new growth.

I've had three different/new bucks show up in the last two days. One is a buck that I only had one picture of all summer back in June. Thought he was dead after not seeing him after November 12th from my stand last year. Think he's a 5 year old.
