Strange meeting last night, never seen so many views, counter views. Rifles, CWD, kill the deer, save the deer, move the season back, no don’t do that... typical frustrating night.

One guy in the open farm country by Cyrus, made some very good comments on how guys push sections for deer now. With ARs he said it will be extremely effective. How they do it, is similar to coyotes.
Another guy says his neighbors have 12 box blinds now, and was told they will only need 5 to cover all their land (CRP, swamp, small thickets). He was very against it. rifles.
Zone 273 has 5% wooded cover.

These are the numbers Keller said they would be using for the process. Strange how they got so many pink votes last night.

These are the numbers Keller said they would be using for the process. Strange how they got so many pink votes last night. That is odd as those numbers don't correlate to the pink post-its from the photo yesterday. I'm in 240 and increasing deer numbers would get my vote.

It was a strange process, you think they could use some technology to make this easier, sticky notes?

It was a strange process, you think they could use some technology to make this easier, sticky notes? It's a meaningless process. They use sticky notes so people get a visual representation of the votes. Then, the DNR does absolutely nothing with the votes/input from those meetings and do exactly what they were going to do anyway.

One guy from my area, brought up the deer population assessment...counting process. They said the helicopter was expensive. How about drones, duh...you could fly over the hot concentration areas in one day.

When every hunter I talk to says there's too many deer, there's no reason to get my undies in a bunch about a meaningless meeting 45 minutes away.

I enjoy it. Fun to see some opposition even if it meaningless. Good reason to stop at the bar after.

It is so strange to have all the guys in one meeting, then having a woman (Barb) explain hunting and management goals to all the guys. No offense, it is just odd.

88% of deer hunters in MN are white men.
Walz demands gender equality and native Americans for the decision making process.
Did she say the process had any teeth or was is just opinion collection.

This all sounds a lot like dealing KSHSAA (Kansas State High School Athletic Association). They send out inquiries for suggestions and then questionnaires every year to look at proposed rules changes and implementation. Results of the questionnaires are always posted. If results are "no" more than 2yrs in a row they change it anyway. I've been working with/against the state for years and it makes no sense other than they can say "at least we asked" before making changes nobody wants. They ask for your voice but have no intention of listening to it.
