I just saw my bank in Iowa dropped to 3.75% for 5 year ag land loan (lock) and 10 year is @ 4%....Nice!!

I emailed the hot chick that did the cabin loan. Asked her if it was time to refi, if prices are pushing higher due to lower rates, and if she could send me some numbers for refi consideration. If I hold out long enough, I'll do a cash out refi on stab camp to buy Exxon Mobil completely and take them private.

Talk about corporate welfare and benefiting the rich, that is simply screwed up. I'm surprised western Europe's citizens would allow that to happen. I guess government has destroyed innovation and the risk takers so they have to pay people to take risks. I sure hope the US does not go in this direction. We need to grow the economy the old fashion way, encourage innovation and free market rewards that come with taking risks. |

I'm surprised western Europe's citizens would allow that to happen. I guess government has destroyed innovation and the risk takers so they have to pay people to take risks. I sure hope the US does not go in this direction. We need to grow the economy the old fashion way, encourage innovation and free market rewards that come with taking risks. We were talking about this 20 years ago when Japan tried it. My econ professor asks us, "What condition would lead producers to not borrow money if it were interest free?" The answer was, expectations. If there are no good ideas for that money, it doesn't pay to take the risk. What do you do with it? First time farmer loans so kids can get interest free funds to buy $35,000 acre land to grow $3 corn? First time home buyer loans so kids can get a $700,000 starter? 0% financing on a $75,000 f-150? No interest money to expand a business you ain't certain will be there is 12 months? I really wonder if people won't be forced to leverage up just to keep purchasing power as the dollar withers away. |

This also applies to many of the programs that we Habitat people participate in. We might be better off without any of them if we truly knew the cost to our government, not to mention the bubble. |

You still have to take risks to get ahead. People can float by on this program or that program, but you still have to be a go getter with some common sense to get ahead. |
