It was the opening morning of rifle season approximately 15 years ago. I was going to be hunting on my brother-in-law’s property. It had not been bow hunted and I was the only rifle hunter. I had several cameras set out and found the perfect tree at the intersection of 3 trails coming from bedding leading to a food source. The camera showed it was like clockwork between 6:15 and 6:30 every morning several very large deer went through this intersection. I had planned to be in the tree by 4:30 AM entrance was not a problem but I wanted to make sure. About halfway to my tree stand my stomach started to roar and nature called so I did my duty. Once again before I hit the tree stand here we go again. I got up into my stand and I was there about 15-20 minutes and I had to take a dump again stomach was just a rolling. So down I went did what I needed to do back on up I went. No sooner I got back up in the stand stomach took off again. This procedure happened three more times, after that I finally gave up packed up headed for home. When I got home the wife asked how come I was home so early I told her I didn’t feel good, told her I had the shits. Upon telling her that she said she was sorry and her face got real red. I asked her what she was sorry for I said it's not your fault I got sick. Her face got even redder and at that point I knew something was up. I finally got the whole story out of her. She thought I needed more fiber in my diet and loaded up last night's supper with a bunch of flaxseed. I will never let her forget about this. Oh man, that is awful. I used to have that problem too. Drink two cups of coffee before heading to the stand, pop in a grizzly and wait. Didn't need a deer call, cause my stomach did all the grunting. Couple that with junk food and beer far cheaper and poorer tasting than Modelo, and it was a recipe for a surprise detonation. Many sits cut short cause of that deadly cocktail. Eating better has lessened the occurrence of emergency shits.

Ok Tooln, so for your idea, I can't say whether that will work or not. It takes the body a few days to pass the toxins from stuff. If I hammer down a pile of pasta, I will run 5 pounds heavier for 4 days, and on the fifth day, it's all gone again.
I'd still try it. All you're out is a few hours of eating. You get to sleep through most of your fast. Those carbs may play hell with you though. Any up and down of carbs always made me want to eat more, and those carbs caused me to want to eat more and so on.
As far as peanut butter goes, I would consider dumping that too. In place of that, I buy the big cans of virginia peanuts at costco. They are really good, and only have sea salt on them. Whenever I'm hungry, I'll go grab a fist full of those. No carbs, no gland disrupting additives. Just fat, salt, and fiber.

I put 2 Tbs. of ground flax seed in my morning fruit/protein powder smoothies.

Down another 3 lbs this week. Had to add a new hole to my belt yesterday. No fancy dieting tricks needed. Simply more calories burned then consumed.

I'd like to get to about 170 lbs. A guy at work thinks I'm crazy and it will never happen but I seem to recall that being a fairly good weight for me.

I remember that weight as a good one for me. It actually was 168 while playing football in tenth grade. About 50 years ago.

I was probably 170 when I was 30 years old. About 150 at 20 years old. Somewhere between 30-40 things went down hill.

I was probably 170 when I was 30 years old. About 150 at 20 years old. Somewhere between 30-40 things went down hill. I was 170-180 till the early 50's then my weight went up and up to a peak of 223. Goal is 185 but would like to maintain 180+- 5 lbs.

I would go crazy if I weighed as much as 170. My frame wouldn't carry it well. I'm on a different scale than you guys but still pretty sure I'm 20 over ideal. I have work ethic but little discipline with diet. I could learn a lot about that from you guys.

Here we are week 8. Last week I hit a plateau and stalled at 192 for 3 days. I gave it a jump start by using a modified version of SD's Dr Barry's plan. I ate a large breakfast and huge lunch and then nothing but water till the next morning. It was easier then I thought to do and it worked. I'm again dropping pounds. So close to my gaol I can't wait. Going to treat myself somehow but not such how yet. Lost 3.2 pounds since last week.

I use a free app called LOSE IT. It did wonders for me. I'm going to need a scale. I had 15 slices of pepperoni, 3 slices of cheddar, and 2 sandwich slices of swiss this morning... it said I consumed 700 calories. I don't feel like I just ate 700 calories, I might be over estimating the size of a slice. Also, is there a place for calories burned? My GPS watch said I burned 1300 calories on my run yesterday, today is a recovery day so I won't burn near that many. Is there a place to account for variations like this or does it just make assumptions based on the activity level you picked on setup?
