I was reading on another forum about folks buying apple trees for $4.99 from stark Bros in june. This sale seems to happen every year, they are listed as semi-dwarf. Come to find out after a few more posts, folks were finding tags left on the rootstocks that the semi-dwarf used is B118. Holy crap, B118 trees for that stinkin cheap, thats nuts, I know June is late but as long as you can water them why the heck not!

I've bought a fair number of trees from Stark Bros. over the years and not one ever had a tag on it stating a specific rootstock.

I do know that Stark Bros. uses b118 and that when you buy from them using a commercial account you can specify what rootstock(s) you want.

I assume thats probably what it was, they had a big order and shipped these trees out really cheap last late May/June according to these folks.
