Got my annual valuation notice for stab camp today. Went up 4.2%. Is it a sign of real value growth in my place, or is the dollar just getting weaker and weaker?
I haven't done any taxable improvements. Maybe the tax man saw my awesome landscaping or heard I'm raising my sulfate levels and awarded me a value bump?

Most of my parcels were stable in evaluation. Overall, down $1000. |

Maybe your cat tipped off the assessor of all your improvements or the assessor saw your solar power setup and decided it was a taxable improvement. Your free electricity just got more expensive. Given the fall in the yield on the 10-year, that power plant is now worth $94,285.71. Thank god the assessors don't understand opportunity costs. Yes, I said $94,285.71. No joke dawg. |

Given the fall in the yield on the 10-year, that power plant is now worth $94,285.71. Thank god the assessors don't understand opportunity costs. Yes, I said $94,285.71. No joke dawg. Given the fall in the yield on the 10-year, that power plant is now worth $94,285.71. Thank god the assessors don't understand opportunity costs. Yes, I said $94,285.71. No joke dawg. We're on it. $660/year electricity divided by the new risk free rate (which is the 10-year treasury) of 0.7% = $94,285 Add in $60/year for actual electricity used on top of fixed costs and utility taxes and it's actually $102,857. But let's stay conservative at $94,285. When the 10-year touched 0.5%, our power plant was worth $144,000. Beats part time work. |

Hunting land values must be through the roof right now. Great social distancing capabilities. Ability to harvest apples, have a garden, have water, and hunt meat to eliminate the need to go to the grocery stores. With few close neighbors. I told my wife that I've been practicing social distancing for years so these changes are right In my wheelhouse. I hate shopping, prefer not to be around tons of people and I would rather stay home and work outside or go fishing or hunting. |
