Current U.S. death rate per confirmed case rate of C19 is right around 1.4%. Every year 5-20% of the U.S. population gets influenza...and that's with around half of our population getting annual flu shots. We get pretty decent herd immunity thanks to the flu shot. Say that 5% get the Kung Flu. 329 million U.S. citizens, 5% of that = 16,450,000. 1.4% of 16,450,000 = 230,300. No herd immunity for C19...yet

I think Trump....like many of us....felt it wasn't a serious threat in the beginning. Sure some folks freaked out right away...but you always have those people. I mean, I'm 45 and I have lived thru the forecasted end of the world a couple of times now! I think as this showed it was more and more serious President Trump took notice...like most of us and thus adjusted his thinking. He didn't want to over-react, nobody did. He realizes the threat this shit is now and how it's more than people being sick or dying. It's affecting everyone's way of life. Before it was a "them" problem....now it's an "us" problem. This will certainly show this country can be "under attack" by things other than guns or traditional weapons.... I -foil hat tingling again!still think this was a chemical weapon in development in China that escaped....but that is just my tin-foil hat tingling again....

I think we may have reached the point where daily presidential updates may be counter productive. Find some way to spin this deal into an every other day or third day update.

Agree with that, every day is to much. The media is going to find the most irritating question to ask anyway so why not lengthen the period between questions. |

I can't believe this is true, the world would not start a pandemic for political gain. Would the democrats use it for political gain, of course. It will be interesting to see where the numbers end up but if they are close to where regular influenza percentages are the public will be pissed. |

The Dems held up the stimulus bill to give forgive the student loans. If that isn’t political then I’m not sure what is. The market will tank another 10% today because of it. The WHO dude is lying. He said last week that China did a great job with this virus. Well they hid it from the world for 3 months. Why did they hide or not use the malaria drugs that have shown promise in previous versions of this virus?? Most people would start there and move forward. |

Don’t know about conspiracy, but I will say I see many Democrats on TV, radio, and other media that downplay a vaccine or cure. I believe they want this to play out into November.
I saw one Dem had a scorecard on the Trump/stock market and was laughing at his lost gains.

I don't know the duration but they should only cover operating expenses for the duration of the economic downturn. I would think at this point a year of expense would be generous. looks like the Dems want votes. |

Yeah the Dems have made this corona relief bill a political pork barrel. It’s up to over 1400 pages of bullshit now. Obviously they had this list planned for quite a while. I think the most important farce in the bill is voting for the future elections by mail and for ballot harvesting where somebody can take other people’s ballots to the local ballot box. They pushed that through in California last election in 2018 and took all of the former republican seats by stuffing ballots. Yes, $10,000 student loan forgiveness is in there too from what I can see. I’ve been saying I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as the hype. We lost 60,000 to the flu in 2017 and there wasn’t the hype. They’re opportunists and using this event to push through legislation they’ve wanted passed for years. I hope Trump points out their BS and doesn’t sign this stuff in. The Dems have written in stuff that will virtually guarantee them taking all of the future elections. My other hope is thatTrump and Pence need to stay apart and isolated. If both of them come down with this then the Dems will push for them to be removed from office and Pelosi steps in. They have the house and with several GOP senators out they almost have the senate. They’ll do anything to take control. |
