Their latest post on their Gofundme page says they need more money donations or they'll have to log the farm.

Badgersette is relatively close to my place. I have yet to meet a local person, including foresters, loggers, DNR biologists, and guys like us who have favorable views of this facility. I've not heard a positive thing about Badgersette in 4 years. I'm not surprised they are going out of business.

I've never read a favorable review either and, if it came down to me logging my land in order to keep it, I'd log it. They seem to act like their so busy they don't return phone calls or emails, so if they're that busy they should be making money.

Responsible logging is good for the land and for critters.
$4900 of a $75K goal in two months...better get some loggers on speed dial.

Badgersette claims they are genetically selecting blight resistant American Chestnuts. In theory they're doing work more suited for non-profit business funded by grants in conjunction with legitimate research.

I've got 30 or so that I'm overwintering that I'll grow at home another year and plant this fall. Beyond that I'm done growing chestnuts from seed. I'm going to buy one of these nut gatherers though for picking up the white oak acorns locally and seeding them in spots on my land. I figure I can pick up the nuts 10x faster with this tool. They keep the grass cut very low so it should work well. www.amleo.com/weasel-nut-gatherer/p/VP-WNG/I can vouch that those nut weasel gatherers are awesome tools. You can pick up 100 a minute without bending over. I picked up 4 pounds today in a couple minutes.
