Yesterday's rainfall made some mushrooms finally pop by our house. We only found 4 little ones, but it should get good soon if the warm weather arrives.

We have been in shrooms for a month or better.....make a mental note on where you found them as they will generally come back in the same area year after year. My place struggles with shrooms because the ground lack clay to hold the moisture. We are actually looking at moving out of shroom time because the soil temp is getting too warm.

I have found 1 this year on my place. Searched around that area and everywhere else I turkey hunted and that was it. It was small so I left it. Checked a few days later and it was gone. The cool weather and lotsa rain makes me wonder if we can still find them. Like Jbird, it’s getting late in the season here.

Season has been long gone and over here. We did well with a couple hundred found. I left some and documented growth for several days, amazing how fast they grow. Glad you guys are still finding them!

i need to look in some of my carnage spots this weekend. It's been so damn cold, I haven't looked yet. I have been looking for Oysters but have come up empty handed so far. I found them once on the president's side of the line, cut them, put them in a bucket and headed back to the other camp. The bucket fell off somewhere and I never found them.
Should be chicken season pretty soon too.

I'm lucky that I have quite a few decent sized elm trees on my field edges and every year a few die off. It seems like the mushroom hunting is pretty good for the first few years after the tree dies, but once the bark slips off the tree after several years the mushrooms are gone. I'm hoping to find a bucket of mushrooms this week and then I'll have a meal of morels and venison backstrap. That's one of my favorite meals of the year.
The soil temperature is still low here, but there is supposed to be warm weather and sun headed our way so things should improve fast.

It's worth learning the King Bolete/Porcini. Good eats.

Got to the property Thursday night. Rained some Saturday and Sunday. Seems to be a lot of pop up thunderstorms and then sun. Farmers got to love it and the chanterelles are popping. I found some in my usual spots and found even more scattered around a new spot. They are so easy they are becoming my favorite. Didn’t see any possible boletes.

Found a few of these. The app says coral fungus. I was thinking lions mane when I saw it. I’m cautious with wild fungus so I left them.
