3/3. The gophers either had a good winter and are fat or else are pregnant.
I need to order new wire cages for the gopher hawks. They are on Amazon.

The lined ground squirrels are awake. I was walking my main orchard and saw a few active burrows, then I saw two ground squirrels. I think they'll enjoy the strychnine grain I put in their burrows.

I've been at war with the chipmunks that hang out around our paver stone patio. Its raised up about 2 to 3 feet with sand underneath.....and a boulder surround to support that berm. It's made to hold allot of chipmunks. A few years ago....I could see that they were making some tunnels under the pavers.....as a few pavers collapsed into the ground. I started live trapping them in my have-a-heart traps.....and after a quick dunk in the lake they got place on our dock or on shore for the eagles that pass by. So far....I've trapped over 70 of the little bastards......and repaired about 20 feet of paver runs. I think I am gaining on 'em now.....but I wont let up on setting the traps.

I can remember seeing gopher harnesses for Muskie fishing. That might be an option for you.

Picked up 7 on the neighbors hay field this morning. I'm hoping to pull 20 or more off it by the time I'm done.
