Yep. I find lots of roadkill at our place. There is about a mile section of highway that probably kills a deer or two a month. Mostly fawns, yearlings, or spike bucks. Seldom older deer. Natural selection at work!

I was thinking about this. There should be a nice increase in buck population for the next few years. There should be a lot less yearling bucks hit by cars this month when mama drives them off.

No photos but, my brother’s buddy almost stepped on a fawn tonight within 2 steps of my DR chipper. These are photos from that spot 3 weeks ago. The chipper hasn’t moved. I’m wondering if the doe left it near the machinery on purpose for protection against coyotes?

I kicked 1 up yesterday while spraying. Looked to be at least a week old. Took off like a bat outta hell.
