So I was on the fence last year but I am certain I have a Bradford pear at the end of my yard. I see it has set some small fruit this year. I’d like to eliminate it before the birds spread seeds later this summer.
I could just cut, spray it and move on. Or I could graft it to a real fruit tree. I assume it is too late for grafting this year. Can I cut it off and let it send up a shoot for grafting next spring?

I've read somewhere that it can be grafted to better trees. No experience though. I don't fool with invasives... kill, kill, kill!

You can graft Bradford pears to more desirable varieties if you want. I'd say it is too late for grafting down there, but you could t-bud come August.
I'd imagine if you want to kill them, cutting them off at ground level and painting the stumps with straight gly or Crossbow would get the job done.
