Was planning to mow my clover plots today. May do that first then spray for broadleaf.....and grasses? Question, can I mix Cleth (16 oz / acre) AND Butyrac 200 (16 oz/ acre) in the same tank? Should have at least 12 hours before a rain.....so I expect that to be good. If so.......how much non-ionic surfactant should I add?? Thanks for a reply.......gotta head out in a hour. ^^. Kinda a spendy tank of herbicides. . The label on my clethodim says to not mix with butyrac as it may reduce effectiveness. ^ After posting the above.....I did a little reading and saw that offered too. Also my rates are way off. Anyway.....I clipped my clover and decided I was too lazy and it's hot and there are too many bugs to spray today. Maybe in a week or two. Thanks Stu.

The wife and I have been watching deer in what was the unmowed clover plot all morning. There's an 8 pointer out there that I got a good look at with the spotting scope. He's got a scar on his neck...I hit an 8 pointer in the neck two bow seasons ago (about made me vomit when I realized I had hit him poorly). I am thinking this is that buck.

He must be a big one if he was a shooter 2 years ago- 2 years ago he was bigger than this buck is now. I'll have to see this buck when he's done growing...I'm guessing he'll be in the upper 130s. The buck I hit two years ago I would have guessed to be in the mid 140s. Maybe this buck with a scar on his neck is a coincidence? Maybe he's on his way down? I don't know

if the buck has the same antler configuration it very well could be the same buck.
Any pics of him after you hit him two years ago?

Well...I had some weeds showing back up in the unmowed clover plot so I decided to mow it. There's supposed to be heavy rain tonight, so I decided to try putting brassica seed down on the plot before mowing. We'll see what happens. Some of the alfalfa was knee high and getting thick stems. It made sense to mow I think. Well, I don't think shit is gonna happen with the brassicas I spread. With all the rain the plot had in the last week, if brassica seed was gonna pop I think at least some would have done so by now. I had visions of a clover plot with some spotty brassicas popping up for added attraction. Doesn't look like that will happen. At least I've got a real nice and lush clover plot

My cousin's dropped by my place yesterday to check on how my plots were doing. This is my brassicas-alfalfa mix that got planted late june. The deer are keeping it mowed down to 6-8". They absolutely love brassicas no matter what time of year it is. Hopefully the mix can stand up to the pressure and get some growth on it.

Funny how the deer don't give 2 shits about any of that type of stuff that we all worry about...

Too thick if you're planting for bulb production. I'm amazed you can plant that early and not have the grasshoppers, flea beetles and cabbage loopers wipe 'em out.

When it comes to Brassicas, more seed becomes less feed. Just sayin.....

When it comes to Brassicas, more seed becomes less feed. Just sayin..... Yeah, I realize that. It's designed for early bow hunting and that's about it. The deer also graze this plot really heavy so I wanted to make sure something would be there for at least a little while this fall. If I planted it normally they'd still keep the brassicas stunted and without bulbs. They just don't let them grow. That's also why there's alfalfa in there.
